Topography of flood areas

The topography of the flood areas can be visualised without much effort using data resources from the web , e.g. http://srtm.csi.cgiar.org/  (download srtm_67_18.zip ) , or retrieving the elevation data from the Google  maps api.

The following graphics are derived from these sources and created with Mathematica 8. They show the terrain of the floods. No flood data is shown.  NearMap has provided an excellen photomap of the flooded Brisbane area.
